What You Will Do

The Capital Project Managerwill support the CSMC Capital Projects organization by owning the technical lifecycle of new manufacturing equipment. This role supports the selection and oversight of new equipment as well as handson technical support to Manufacturing Engineers (MEs), coordinates engineered startup activities, and drives alignment across Business Units to ensure seamless machine readiness and integration into production.

With technical aptitude, the Capital Project Managerwill will support complex equipment installations and process improvements. While responsibilities span multiple initiatives, the Capital Project Managerwill primarily focus on supporting F135 manufacturing growth within an active, operating module center.

EndtoEnd Equipment Engineering Ownership
Own CEPO engineering activities including IR inputs, specification creation, requirements documentation, and technical coordination
Lead machine drawing review (2D/3D), ensuring design compliance, manufacturability, and adherence to interface requirements
Ensure EHS compliance throughout engineering phases of machine build and installation
Own all preinstallation engineering requirements including:
- Foundation drawings
- Utility requirements and interface specifications
- Supplier technical contacts and coordination

Machine Build, Runoffs, and Commissioning
Lead/participate in machine SAT/FAT activities and own closure of all punchlist actions
Collaborate with suppliers, PMs, and Facilities on technical machine build reviews, acceptance criteria, and installation sequencing
Provide engineering oversight and troubleshooting during installation, proveout, and startup

Manufacturing Engineering Support & Engineered Startup
Provide handson technical support to MEs during equipment readiness, proveout, and transformation activities
Lead programmingrelated engineering support (as applicable)
Coordinate fixtures, tooling, and equipment interface requirements for new machinery
Serve as the primary engineering contact for vendor technical support during build and startup

Transformation Offload & Process Alignment
Support Transformation Offload by ensuring technical process alignment between Business Units
Track process improvements and assess their impact on production plans and technical readiness
Implement CORE standards and lead engineering contributions to continuous improvement

CrossFunctional Leadership
Partner closely with Operations, Facilities, EHS, Digital, Quality, and Project Managers to ensure equipment readiness
Participate in risk identification and mitigation planning across technical and operational stakeholders
Communicate engineering status, issues, and progress to leadership

What You Will Learn

  • Full lifecycle exposure to advanced manufacturing equipment-from concept and spec creation to commissioning and operational handoff

  • Handson technical experience with machine programming, tooling integration, and engineering troubleshooting

  • Deep knowledge of CEPO processes, technical drawings, machine requirements, and supplier engineering coordination

  • Strong understanding of machine installation readiness: utilities, foundations, interfaces, and EHS considerations

  • Experience applying CORE, Lean, and continuous improvement methodologies to equipment engineering

  • Insight into module center operations, material flow, equipment maintenance coordination, and production workflows

  • Growth in crossbusiness alignment, supplier engagement, and readiness planning

  • Occasional travel, including support for East Hartford HFB Module Center alignment

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Project Management, or a related field and minimum of 8 years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, production, project management, quality or related environment OR a Master's degree and 5 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, production, project management, quality or related environment

  • Experience reading and interpreting equipment drawings, part prints, and facility layouts

  • Experience supporting machine installations, equipment startup, or manufacturing engineering processes

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Project

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple technical priorities in a fastpaced, productionoriented environment;

  • Demonstrated communication skills and technical problemsolving skills with the ability to work across engineering, operations, and supplier teams

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Aerospace, or related technical field)

  • Experience with CEPO, IR, spec development, or machine build technical reviews

  • Experience leading or supporting SAT/FAT activities

  • Familiarity with SAP, Solumina, or other MES/procurement systems

  • Experience with programming, tooling, or fixtures for advanced machine tools

  • Knowledge of structural requirements (foundation drawings, utilities, etc.)

  • Understanding of CORE, Lean, or Six Sigma

  • Experience coordinating vendor engineering resources

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
