Senior Finance Associate, Capital One Shopping
Our mission is to serve as strategic and financial advisors empowering Capital One Shopping to achieve sustainable, long-term growth. We act as key financial stewards for an exciting, fast-growing business helping Capital One to "Win at the Top of the Market". The Shopping Finance team provides comprehensive P&L support, helping to turn complex data into actionable insights that drive the strategic direction of this business
As a Senior Associate on the Shopping FP&A team, you will step into a highly autonomous role with the following responsibilities:
  • Full P&L Ownership: Manage financial reporting and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and profit & loss (P&L) optimization
  • Strategic Advisory: Move beyond standard data collection to articulate the financial impacts of both short and long-term business visions
  • Process Transformation: Evaluate and optimize existing workflows, challenging current structures to build more proactive, automated, and effective financial infrastructure, and identify expense saving opportunities

Key Competencies include, but are not limited to:
  • Practical experience or a strong desire to leverage AI and learn technical tools like SQL, Python, Snowflake, and internal systems (Xtream, Finsight, Coupa)
  • Strong capability to synthesize dense data into a crisp, compelling story, articulating clear insights and strategic outcomes to senior audiences
  • Ability to navigate roadblocks independently, ask critical questions, and work on whitespace problems
  • Strong team collaboration skills and the ability to work cross-functionally

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 2 years' experience in financial analysis
  • At least 2 years' experience with financial modeling

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master's Degree in Finance
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • 3+ years' experience in financial analysis
  • 3+ years' experience with financial modeling
  • 1+ years' experience with GSuite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • 1+ years' experience with Enterprise AI Tools (Gemini, Claude)
  • 1+ years' experience with internal financial systems (XStream, Finsight, Coupa)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $96,500 - $110,100 for Sr. Financial Analyst
Richmond, VA: $87,700 - $100,100 for Sr. Financial Analyst
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
