The Debt Capital Markets / Leveraged Capital Markets Analyst will support the origination, structuring, underwriting, syndication, and execution of debt financing transactions for corporate and financial sponsor clients. Working closely with Corporate Banking, Syndications, Credit, and Capital Markets professionals, the Analyst will assist in delivering financing solutions across a broad range of debt products, including syndicated loans, investment grade bonds, leveraged loans, high yield bonds, acquisition financings, bridge facilities, and private placements.
Depending on business needs and candidate experience, the Analyst may be aligned with either the Debt Capital Markets (DCM) or Leveraged Capital Markets (LCM) team. This role offers significant exposure to transaction execution, financial analysis, capital markets, and client coverage activities, providing a strong foundation for a career in banking and capital markets.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the execution of debt financing transactions, including syndicated loans, bond issuances, acquisition financings, bridge facilities, and/or private placements.
  • Assist in the preparation of client presentations, financing proposals, term sheets, offering materials, and lender marketing materials.
  • Coordinate transaction-related workstreams and facilitate communication among internal and external stakeholders, including clients, syndications teams, credit partners, legal counsel, and other advisors.
  • Support due diligence, documentation review, and transaction closing processes.
  • Assist in maintaining transaction timelines and ensuring timely execution of deal-related deliverables.
  • Prepare internal approval materials, credit analyses, and transaction summaries.
  • Evaluate financing structures and assist in identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor debt capital markets, leveraged finance markets, interest rate trends, credit spreads, and investor sentiment.
  • Analyze market conditions and comparable transactions to support financing recommendations.
  • Assist in preparing market updates, strategic analyses, and client meeting materials.
  • Maintain transaction databases, market comparables, and internal reporting tools.

Potential Team Assignments
Debt Capital Markets (DCM)
Professionals aligned with the DCM team primarily support investment grade and corporate debt financing activities, including:
  • Investment grade bond issuances.
  • Syndicated loan financings and refinancings.
  • Liability management and refinancing transactions.
  • Capital structure and funding strategy analyses.
  • Market monitoring and fixed income investor engagement.

Leveraged Capital Markets (LCM)
Professionals aligned with the LCM team primarily support sponsor-backed and leveraged financing transactions, including:
  • Leveraged loans and syndicated credit facilities.
  • Acquisition financings and recapitalizations.
  • Bridge financings and high yield bond transactions.
  • Financial sponsor coverage and underwriting activities.
  • Syndication and distribution of leveraged debt facilities.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Credit Analysis, Loan Syndications, or a related financial services role.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and financial statement analysis skills.
  • Understanding of corporate finance, capital markets, and credit fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred
  • Internship or full-time experience supporting debt financing transactions.
  • Exposure to syndicated loans, leveraged loans, investment grade bonds, high yield bonds, acquisition financings, or private placements.
  • Experience with financial modeling and capital structure analysis.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet, or other financial data platforms.
  • Progress toward CFA designation or other relevant professional certifications.
  • FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses preferred; candidates not currently licensed must be willing and eligible to obtain required registrations within a specified timeframe upon hire.

The typical base pay range for this role is $110K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
