Job description

Job Summary

We're looking for a Lead Project Manager, Capital Projects (CapEx) to lead the planning and execution of major capital investment projects that expand manufacturing capacity, improve operational capabilities, and support strategic growth. In this role, you'll manage a portfolio of high-impact projects from concept through production handoff, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.

Location: Oldsmar, FL
Travel: Occasional travel to Chromalloy sites, suppliers, and equipment manufacturers as needed.
Schedule: On-site

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead a portfolio of capital projects supporting manufacturing, facilities, infrastructure, and equipment expansion.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and implementation strategies to ensure successful execution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Facilities, Quality, Finance, Procurement, and external vendors.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, spending, and capital approval documentation.
  • Oversee equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, qualification, and production handoff activities.
  • Track project milestones, risks, action items, and critical-path activities to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Prepare project status updates, dashboards, and executive-level presentations.
  • Drive issue resolution, change management, and continuous communication across stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company capital project processes, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Support long-range capital planning, budgeting, and strategic growth initiatives.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing capital projects, industrial equipment installations, facility expansions, or manufacturing projects.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with responsibility for budget, scope, schedule, and project outcomes.
  • Knowledge of capital budgeting, project financials, forecasting, procurement processes, and vendor management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and project management tools.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive projects to completion in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

Nice to Have

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification.
  • Experience in aerospace, MRO, industrial manufacturing, precision machining, coatings, plating, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment installation, facility infrastructure projects, or production capacity expansion initiatives.
  • Experience with stage-gate project management, Lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with commissioning, qualification, and production startup activities.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Regular presence on the production floor and active project sites is required.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, climb stairs, and move throughout manufacturing and construction areas.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety requirements.
