Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit.
Full Time
Night Shift
Hours: 645PM to 715AM
The Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit (3 South) at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center provides specialized care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post-coronary interventions, post-ablation care, and myocardial infarctions. The unit also manages pre- and post-catheterization patients, as well as those experiencing acute stroke.
The Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
Education
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (required) Or
  • MSN (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
  • Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
  • NIH within 1 year of hire

Experience
  • 18 Months of acute care RN experience(required)
  • Experience in Telemetry, acute stroke, or cardiac preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Acute Care nursing background preferred
