Job description

Rapid Response Lab
Full-Time Day Shift (7:30am-5pm) 

Possibility of floating between Troy, Englewood, and Greenville OH. 

Position Summary:

Phlebotomists at our Rapid Response Labs practice prompt and courteous customer service at all times. They will collect blood and other specimens for lab testing, enter patient information into the appropriate electronic ordering system, and process specimens according to procedure for transport to testing facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures.
  • Follow department procedure for patient identification and labeling of lab specimens.
  • Complete test order requisitions per department procedure.
  • Assist with or prepare specimens for transport to required lab facility.
  • Operate department equipment, including POCT systems, computers, centrifuges and printers.
  • Assist with specimen draw problem solving, including rapid response to TIQ requests from processing.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.  
  • Must have recent phlebotomy training or experience, with at least 100 venipunctures completed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.  

Physical & Safety Demands:

  • Must be able to stand the majority of the shift.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate consistent integrity and accuracy in specimen handling, processing, testing, and reporting.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate ability to interact positively with all internal and external contacts.
  • Will have exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to safety, ergonomic and health policies of the company.
  • Comply with all PPE requirements when in the laboratory or other biohazard areas.
  • Complete required safety training and health evaluations in a timely manner.
  • Anticipate safety hazards, act upon unsafe situations and promote safety awareness.
