Job description

Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN)

Agape Independent Living Group is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community-based settings (COMP/NOW Waiver & Community Living Arrangements). This dual-role position combines direct health oversight for individuals with staff training and education to ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Individual Care & Health Oversight:
    • Conduct health assessments and develop/review individual healthcare plans.
    • Oversee medication administration protocols, health tracking, and wellness routines.
    • Coordinate with primary physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams.
    • Monitor individual health needs and provide clinical guidance during health changes.
  • Staff Training & Capacity Building:
    • Facilitate required clinical and safety training for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and staff (e.g., medication administration, seizure protocols, infection control, first aid/CPR).
    • Conduct competency evaluations to ensure staff adhere to Georgia DBHDD regulations and agency health standards.
    • Provide ongoing health education and instruction on individual-specific healthcare plans.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
    • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with state licensing standards.
    • Conduct periodic medical file audits and quality assurance reviews.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia (in good standing).
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) or in home/community-based waiver services preferred.
  • Prior experience in nursing education, staff training, or clinical instruction is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Georgia DBHDD guidelines and community residential care standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
