Job description

Beverage Mart Lead Position
Description:
The Beverage Mart Lead is responsible for the Beverage Mart overall. The Lead Clerk must be flexible with hours of availability and be proficient in opening and closing store procedures as well as all other general operating tasks throughout the store. The Lead Clerk will ensure that all local and state laws are followed and enforced as pertaining to the sale and handling of alcohol in the store. Ensure all store conditions are maintained to the highest standards throughout the day, ensure all employees are in proper dress code, stay productive, and engaging with customers. The Lead Clerk will ensure all sanitation and cleaning duties are performed as well as daily tasks.
  • Inspect the store for evidence of shrink, damaged product, poor inventory control, internal and external theft and properly reporting and logging these events. Ensure all products scan correctly, have correct price tags, placement, and signage. Properly balancing and reconciling store, cash in safe, lotto tickets and other accounting items.
  • Ensure all schedules are made according to sales, special events, holidays, and other factors that may occur. Ensure proper coverage on all days.
  • Follow company procedures regarding receiving merchandise and obtaining credit on damaged or mislabeled items.
  • Follows inventory control procedures. Properly produce and maintain and submit all invoices in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate store-to-store transfers and ensure proper cost is charged and all forms are filled out correctly.
  • Ensure all new employees are properly trained according to company expectations and understand the duties they are expected to perform.
  • Communicate goals and expectations with all employees including productivity and performance. Coach and develop employees to reach goals set for them.
  • Discuss important topics such as shrinkage and enforcement of laws and policies. Maintain positive morale within the store.
  • Maintain all necessary paperwork in a clean and neat manner. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including store warehouse and office.
  • Cooperate with supervisors on special projects and other tasks as needed such as resets, buy-ins, special transfers, or new items.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of the Texas Lottery Machine.
  • Knowledge of POS System
  • Computer skills, Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience in Cash Handling and store balancing
  • Multitasking and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication skills must be able to communicate with vendors, corporate staff, and clients and customers.
  • Basic Merchandising skills, building displays etc.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures and State Laws.
  • Notify appropriate management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns and property defacement.
  • Present favorable impression in dress, personal hygiene and business attitude.
  • Maintain TABC Certification
  • Other duties assigned by management.
  • TABC certified upon employment
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Strong interpersonal/customer service skills.
  • must be available to work flexible shifts depending on business needs

Physical Demands:
-Occasionally- Sitting, talking, climbing up to 6-foot height, and smelling.

lbs., balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, manual dexterity, and reaching waist/overhead level.
-Continuously- Standing on tile/concrete, reaching, seeing, and hearing.
Safety Risk Factors:
-Occasionally-Loud noise, slippery or cluttered floor surface, contact with sharp objects, contact with skin irritant,
toxic exposure (see Safety Data Sheets), nuisance dust, fumes, sprays, and hazardous cleaning solutions.
-Frequently-Twisting of back and neck, and hazardous equipment
