JOB TITLE: Senior Staff AccountantJOB STATEMENT: The Senior Staff Accountant handles the day-to-day transactional accounting functions of the company, with a heavy emphasis on full-cycle Accounts Payable, general ledger maintenance, and regulatory compliance. This is a hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.Essential functions:Handle full-cycle Accounts PayableAnalyze invoice/expense reports and record entries for accounts and cost centersProcess vendor payments, resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper documentationReconcile vendor accounts and maintain historical recordsAllocate credit card expenses and reconcile statementsMaintain the general ledger including account reconciliationsProcess incoming check depositManage the aging to ensure that payments are within terms, and cash flow is optimizedTrack all deductions and agreed upon payments for trade shows, vend trade, samplings, etcWorks closely with CPA's during auditsPrepare and file sales tax and other regulatory filingsMaintain organized financial records and documentationOther duties and administrative projects as assignedQUALIFICATIONS AND CORE SKILLS:Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related business field3+ years directly related experienceAdvanced MS Excel, MS Word, and MS OutlookProficiency with automated accounting software and modern ERP systemsProven analytical ability and problem solving skillsStrong communication and organizational skillsSelf-directed, team playerACCOUNTABILITIES:Act as a valuable resource for managementDeliver predictable, high-quality data outputs and meet all processing deadlinesMaintaining a positive, constructive attitudeContribute ideas for practical process improvements within daily accounting workflowsBENEFITS:Sconza Candy Company offers a competitive compensation and benefit program which includes full medical and dental coverage, 401(k) with company match + discretionary contribution (100% vested immediately), vacation and 11 holidays per year.Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 annually.
