Job description
Mayo Clinic is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Administrator for the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center (MCCCC). This individual, in partnership with the Executive Director of the MCCCC, is responsible for strategic and operational planning, leadership development, staff diversity, fiscal management, and monitoring of operational and performance outcomes of the MCCCC in alignment with Mayo Clinic's overall strategy.
At Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center (MCCCC), our mission is bold: to cure cancer. As a leading global authority, we are transforming cancer research, practice, and education and training with category-of-one data platforms, artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and digital technologies. Through our developing digital front door (My Mayo Clinic) and our innovative Cancer Care Beyond Walls (CCBWTM) and Clinical Trials Beyond Walls (CCBWTM) programs, we are assuring Mayo Clinic discoveries, knowledge and expertise are accessible to all, within and beyond our walls, at any place or anytime.
Designated as one of the nation's highest-ranked National Cancer Institute (NCI)-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers since 1973, MCCCC is the only NCI Cancer Center with three highly integrated sites-Rochester, Minnesota; Jacksonville, Florida; and Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona - treating more than 150,000 unique patients with cancer from across the nation annually. Mayo Clinic and MCCCC also have a fourth health delivery system: Mayo Clinic Health System (MCHS). This community-based primarily rural health care delivery system extends from the Rochester campus through 49 communities in southern Minnesota, western Wisconsin, and northeastern Iowa. The constellation of the three Mayo Clinic campuses and MCHS, each with unique opportunities and catchment area populations, creates a remarkable opportunity to develop models for collaborative research, distributed clinical trials, and cancer care delivery between academic and community-based healthcare providers.
MCCCC is also particularly distinguished among the nation's cancer centers by our unparalleled opportunities to transform research and clinical practice through extensive collaborations with the Mayo Clinic AI Program, extensive cloud-based and on premises computing capabilities, and Mayo Clinic Platform (MCP) - the world's largest collaborative, distributed, federated healthcare data network with a cloud-based data architecture holding the longitudinal healthcare records of 54 million patients from across the world.
The Executive Administrator also serves as the Enterprise Deputy Director for Administration for the Mayo Clinic NCI P30 Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG), in partnership with the MCCCC Executive Director who serves as the CCSG Principal Investigator. In this role, the Executive Director oversees an administrative team that supports the center's leadership, faculty, and staff teams who guide each CCSG component. The Executive Administrator works closely with Center's Deputy Directors, site-based leaders, and allied health care staff to drive a high-performance collaborative research ecosystem in our laboratories, clinics and communities. Six Research Programs serve as engines for scientific discovery, translating our discoveries to novel diagnostics and therapeutics. These six transdisciplinary Research Programs include: Cancer Genomics, Signaling, and Metastasis (CGSM), Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapeutics (CII), Cancer Risk Assessment, Early Detection, Interception (REDI), Cancer Prevention, Control, and Survivorship (CPCS), Novel Therapeutics and Therapeutic Modalities (NTTM) and Advanced Clinical Trials and Translational Sciences (ACTS). Through collaborations and coordination with the Mayo Clinic Research Sheild, MCCCC harnesses the power of these Research Programs, seven Translational Science teams, and 15 Disease Groups to drive a highly robust cancer clinical trials program, with distributed and decentralized elements. Center activities are also supported by 15 outstanding Shared Research Resources. Through these efforts, MCCCC is revolutionizing cancer research and pioneering new ways to detect, intercept, and advance cures for patients with cancer everywhere.
