We are currently looking for a RN for our 3 Central (ICE-T/CAR-T) unit. This 12 bed Inpatient Unit and an 8 bay Outpatient Treatment Center provides a dynamic working environment specializing in Immune Cellular Therapy patients. The patient’s immune cells are removed from the body, reengineered in a lab and then infused back into the patient. These new immune cells seek out and destroy the cancerous cells.

The Cellular Immunotherapy Program at Moffitt Cancer Center is an innovative treatment approach that harnesses the body’s own immune system to fight cancer. At Moffitt Cancer Center, we offer several types of cellular immunotherapy, including chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy, T-cell receptor (TCR) therapy, tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) therapy, dendritic cell vaccine and we are continually investigating additional options. These novel treatments are helping to transform the landscape for many current and future cancer patients. We are fully accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), speaking to the unwavering dedication and expertise of our team.

At Moffitt, cellular immunotherapy is currently being used in a number of ways.  

CAR T-cell therapy: can be used to treat certain types of cancer, including diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, mantle cell lymphoma, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, transformed follicular lymphoma and follicular lymphoma.

TCR gene transfers: require human leukocyte antigen (HLA) matching, can be used to treat several types of malignancies, including lung cancer, sarcomas and multiple myeloma.

TIL therapy: can be used to treat malignant melanoma, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, genitourinary carcinoma and lung cancer.

The Ideal Candidate

• BSN graduates interested in beginning or transitioning to the specialty of Oncology Ambulatory Care.

Credentials and Qualifications:         

• Bachelor's Degree in Science of Nursing required
• Registered Nurse (RN) RN-Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of FL, or a valid Multi-State privilege to practice in FL (must declare FL as primary State of residence within 30 days from date of hire if licensed in another eNLC compact state with multi-state privileges)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

 Responsibilities:         

• New-graduate nurses will initiate professional nursing practice careers in a supportive environment committed to mentoring, coaching and learning. 
• Build confidence through a structured, professional transition-into-practice experience that is customized to individual developmental needs. 
• Develop leadership skills that will positively impact the clinical practice environment and patient outcomes. 
• Create and enhance professional networks and relationships with peers during the residency, while honing and developing clinical and leadership skills in a world-class academic medical institution.
• Scheduled eight-hour paid education days off the unit are offered for residents to participate in required class activities. 
• The entire residency program length is 12 months with the inclusion of the department specific orientation that is either 12 or 16 weeks in length depending on the department. 
• The Residency program also includes informal, one-on-one meetings at scheduled intervals throughout the program to provide additional support and to monitor the newly licensed nurse's progress. 
• Residents will also participate in evaluation of their own individual progress as well as evaluation of the overall program.
• All Nurse Residents will be required to sign a Commitment Agreement, agreeing to work for a minimum of two (2) years in the Cancer Center as a Registered Nurse in good working standards complying with all polices and protocols of the Cancer Center. In the event the employee does not successfully complete the Nurse Residency Program or thereafter the commitment of two (2) full years of employment in the Cancer Center after completion of the program, employee agrees to refund the Cancer Center a pro-rated amount of the cost for the program. Additional details will be provided with an offer. 

Position Highlights:

• The Registered Nurse delivers individualized quality nursing care to cancer patients and families in accordance with established hospital guidelines, nursing professional practice model, nursing care standards and policies and in accordance with ANA code of ethics and external regulatory agencies.

This is demonstrated in base-line and comparative documentation, entered in a timely manner, and with evidence of age-appropriate consideration when care is planned, delivered, and evaluated.
