REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation

WORK FROM HOME STATUS: Eligible

After a period of in-person training and time working onsite with your team, this role has the option to work remotely (in WI only at this time). In general, this timeframe tends to be 4-6 weeks. Note that there will be situations when someone may choose or be asked to return onsite which would be coordinated and scheduled in advance.

This position has responsibility for 4imprint’s domestic and Canadian transportation and logistics functions, as well as other international shipments. This role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the transportation operations within 4imprint and their vendor partners. The role of senior transportation manager involves strategic planning, coordinating logistics, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This role will lead a team of transportation coordinators to deliver efficient and cost-effective transportation solutions while providing certainty in every delivery. This pivotal role will partner with other areas of the organization for a broader supply chain focus.


Here’s what a typical day might look like. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Demonstrate the eight core principles that guide every 4imprint teammate on a daily basis: Honesty, Curiosity, Collaboration, Flexibility, Accountability, Empathy, Positive Attitude, and Humility.
  • Develop and execute overall transportation and logistics strategy ensuring alignment with competitive business strategy.
  • Support the customer service team in providing transportation services for the best possible customer experience from the quoting stage through final delivery.
  • Ensure supply chain strategies are optimized between internal business processes and external product vendor and service providers.
  • Maximize use of IT tools and technologies to promote proactivity versus reactivity in all circumstances.
  • Plan, support and execute scalable initiatives to support business growth. 
  • Understand and drive productivity initiatives, efficient routing maxims, as well as an overall cost-conscious culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all customs and other regulatory requirements.
  • Meet with representatives of third-party carriers and other service providers to evaluate their services.
  • Interact with product vendors on freight topics which would improve or enhance our transportation and logistics operations.
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal teams including logistics, supply chain, and customer service to ensure smooth transportation processes. 
  • Lead, coach, and develop the transportation team through structured one-on-one meetings, performance management, goal setting, and career development planning.
  • Establish team priorities, monitor workload distribution, and ensure appropriate coverage to support daily transportation operations and customer commitments.
  • Oversee daily domestic and international transportation operations, including LTL, small parcel, and cross-border Canada shipments, ensuring service reliability, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across key business areas to drive strategic initiatives, improve operational performance, and ensure alignment with company objectives.

Required education/skills/experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or related field.
  • 5-10 years of transportation and logistics experience, including leadership of direct reports. 
  • Experience should include an understanding of various fulfillment and transportation methods related to high volume parcel distribution and direct ship operations.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and negotiation skills, to include experience negotiating contracts with parcel carriers, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Experience as a strong, collaborative leader who committed to fostering a high-performance culture and developing talent within the team. 
  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and MS Office Suite.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining transportation management systems, including third party software.
  • Financial skills to develop and analyze budgets.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and customs regulations.
