Job description

Job Summary: Facilitates and teaches American Red Cross courses per the standard as scheduled by the Red Cross Coordinator.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates ARC courses by setting up blended learning and course records.
  • Teaches ARC courses including Lifeguard, CPR, BLS, Babysitting, and Wilderness First Aid.
  • Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with UVAC policies, procedures, and the ?safe-in-six? model. Completes related reports as required.
  • Maintains effective, positive relationships with patrons and other staff.
  • Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed.
  • Attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings. Occasionally lead in-service training.
  • Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and, as appropriate, refers students and parents to other programs.
  • Maintains records as required.
  • Follows all UVAC policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
  • Returns phone calls and answers patron?s questions as needed. Communicates with participants throughout the process.
  • Understand the online registration process to assist participants in completing registration.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
