AAS degree with 5 years of experience in Technology or Bachelor's degree.

Position Summary
The IT App Developer II supports and enhances manufacturing and business-critical applications at Client Canton, NY plant. This role is responsible for maintaining reliable application performance, supporting production operations, troubleshooting technical issues, improving data accuracy, and delivering minor application enhancements across manufacturing systems.
Serving as a key technical resource under the direction of the IT Site Manager, this position works closely with plant operations, engineering, and IT to resolve user issues, implement effective solutions, and support ERP, MES, and other in-house applications that rely on Oracle and SQL databases. Responsibilities include application support, database analysis, testing, documentation, and end-user engagement in a production-focused environment.
The ideal candidate is a mid-level IT professional who can work independently on most issues, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous improvement of plant application support processes and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Application Support
Provide day-to-day support for plant applications, with primary responsibility for Camstar, ONEMES, and other in-house manufacturing/business systems.
Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application incidents, service requests, and production-impacting issues.
Work directly with operators, engineers, supervisors, and plant leadership to understand issues and restore service quickly.
Support manufacturing operations through timely issue resolution and clear communication.
Application Development, Testing & Debugging
Develop IT solutions through creation of new functionality and modification of existing software applications.
Read, analyze, and troubleshoot code with a primary emphasis on C# and Python.
Analyze system requirements, workflows, and business processes to support enhancements and issue resolution.
Create, test, debug, document, and implement application changes and minor development efforts.
Support software development activities using tools such as Visual Studio and technologies including C#, SQL, and related application components.
Assist with prototypes, code changes, and solution validation for plant application improvements.
Database & Data Integrity Support
Maintain and support data accuracy and integrity within Oracle-based application environments.
Write and analyze SQL queries to investigate issues, validate data, and support troubleshooting.
Support systems using Oracle and SQL Server as needed.
Assist in identifying root causes of data issues and implementing corrective actions.
Documentation, Training & Process Support
Create, maintain, and improve technical documentation, support procedures, knowledge articles, and troubleshooting guides.
Follow established SOPs, change control practices, and support processes.
Provide application training and knowledge transfer to end users as needed.
Contribute to a sustainable knowledge base for recurring issues and solutions.
Coordination & Continuous Improvement
Coordinate with stakeholders across IT, engineering, operations, and development teams to resolve incidents and support projects.
Help prioritize issues and enhancement requests based on business impact and urgency.
Identify recurring issues and recommend process, system, or support improvements.
Support additional application administration tasks, including account maintenance for systems such as Teamcenter, and assist the broader IT team as needed.
Required Qualifications
AAS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience
Experience supporting business and/or manufacturing applications
Hands-on experience with relational databases, specifically Oracle
Ability to write and interpret SQL for troubleshooting and data validation
Ability to read and understand code, primarily C# and Python
Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365
Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently on most support issues while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical users
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting MES platforms, especially Camstar or similar manufacturing systems
Experience in a manufacturing or plant environment
Experience with SQL Server
Familiarity with MS SharePoint, XML, Visual Studio
Experience with software QA, testing, and change deployment processes
Experience with application administration or account management for systems
Understanding of production workflows, routing, WIP tracking, and manufacturing operations
Work Environment / Additional Expectations
Position is onsite at the Client plant in Canton, NY
Requires physical presence on the manufacturing floor as needed to support operations
Regular interaction with operators, engineers, and plant leadership
Participation in a 5-week on-call rotation
Occasional off-hours support for critical issues, deployments, or production-impacting events
