Field Safety Sr. Specialist

Camping World

Job Title: Field Safety Sr. Specialist

Company: Camping World

Reports To: Regional Field Safety Manager

Travel Requirements: 50% overnight travel required

Region: West

Location: Remote; assigned office location within a Camping World facility in the designated region

Position Summary

The Field Safety Sr. Specialist supports the Regional Field Safety Manager in the execution of safety, health, and environmental programs across an assigned sub-region of Camping World dealerships and RV service centers. This position works closely with field and location leadership to advance Camping World's "True North" safety culture, maintain regulatory compliance, reduce operational risk, and drive timely completion of corrective actions through regular field engagement, coaching, inspections, training, and incident follow-up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Support: Assist in the implementation of regional safety programs, standards, and initiatives to promote consistent application across assigned dealerships and service centers.
  • Frontline Coaching: Provide day-to-day guidance and support to local leaders and Team Members to strengthen safe work practices, hazard recognition, and Camping World's "True North" safety culture.
  • Operational Coordination: Partner with location leadership to align safety expectations with operational priorities and daily business activities.
  • Field Verification: Conduct field visits, workplace observations, safety inspections, and corrective action follow-up to verify compliance and support continuous improvement.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, fire code, and company safety requirements across service, retail, parts, delivery, and lot operations.
  • High-Risk Controls: Reinforce required controls for RV roof work, fall protection, forklift operations, lockout/tagout, battery charging, chemical handling, and hot work.
  • Incident Management: Assist with timely incident response, investigation, root cause analysis, corrective action development, and communication of relevant trends to the Regional Field Safety Manager.
  • Claims and Recovery Support: Support coordination with Human Resources, Risk Management, claims partners, and operations leaders for workers' compensation follow-up, return-to-work coordination, and injury prevention efforts.
  • Training and Onboarding: Deliver and reinforce safety training for field leaders and Team Members, including support for new acquisitions, new leaders, and locations requiring additional safety attention.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Risk Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of safety experience, including field inspections, incident investigations, corrective action management, and safety coaching in a multi-site or field-based environment.
  • Industry Background: Experience in RV, automotive, equipment rental, construction, industrial, logistics, or other multi-site field operations environments preferred.
  • Professional Certification: ASP, OHST, CHST, or other relevant safety certification preferred or in progress.
  • Communication and Influence: Demonstrated ability to build relationships, coach effectively, and work collaboratively with location and field leadership in support of safety objectives.
  • Travel Availability: Ability to travel up to 50% by vehicle and commercial flight, including short-notice travel for serious incidents and field support needs.

The pay range for this role considers several factors in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Camping World, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the factors stated. A reasonable estimate of the current range is listed below.

Pay Range:

$87,400.00-$134,000.00 Annual
