Responsibilities may include landscaping, handling reservations, enforcing rules, and providing customer service. Some roles focus on maintenance, while others may be more hospitality-oriented. Campground staff often work outdoors and interact with campers to enhance their experience.
A Campground Manager's daily duties typically include overseeing guest check-ins and reservations, maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the grounds, and addressing any issues or emergencies that arise. You may manage a small team of maintenance or office staff, coordinate schedules, and ensure compliance with local regulations. The role also involves interacting directly with campers to provide information or resolve concerns, along with routine tasks like collecting fees and handling basic facility repairs. This hands-on, varied environment requires strong multitasking and communication skills, and offers opportunities to make a positive impact on guests' outdoor experiences.
To thrive as a Campground Manager, you need experience in hospitality or facilities management, basic maintenance knowledge, and a customer-focused mindset. Familiarity with reservation software, safety protocols, and potentially certifications such as CPR or first aid is often required. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills help you build rapport with guests and coordinate daily operations efficiently. These capabilities are essential to ensure a safe, welcoming, and smoothly-run environment for all campers and staff.
