Their responsibilities can include canvassing, phone banking, organizing events, conducting research, and supporting campaign staff with administrative work. Interns gain hands-on experience in the political process, learn about campaign strategies, and develop valuable communication and organizational skills. These positions are typically temporary and can be either paid or unpaid, depending on the campaign.

What are some common challenges campaign interns face when working on fast-paced political campaigns?

Campaign Interns often encounter the challenge of managing multiple responsibilities in a rapidly changing environment, where priorities may shift daily based on campaign needs. Balancing administrative tasks, event support, and outreach efforts while learning new tools and software can be demanding, especially during peak campaign periods. Job description

Marketing Assistant Intern

Style Edit • Woodcliff Lake, NJ • Hybrid

About Style Edit

Style Edit is a growing beauty brand focused on professional-quality hair solutions that make everyday styling easier. From gray coverage and root touch-ups to volume, texture, and styling, we create innovative products designed to help customers look and feel their best.

We’re looking for a Marketing Assistant Intern who wants to get hands-on experience in marketing and work on projects that actually reach customers.

This isn’t an internship where you’ll simply observe or handle administrative tasks. You’ll work directly with our Marketing Coordinator and broader marketing team, contribute ideas, work on real campaigns, and see how marketing strategies come to life.

You’ll gain exposure to marketing strategy, creative development, copywriting, email, SMS, social media, e-commerce, promotions, analytics, and new product launches.

About the Role

As a Marketing Assistant Intern, you’ll support the planning and execution of marketing initiatives across the Style Edit brand.

We’re looking for someone who is curious, creative, analytical, organized, and eager to learn. You don’t need to already know every marketing platform or tool. We’re more interested in how you think, how you learn, and whether you’re willing to take initiative and bring ideas to the table.

What You'll Do

Marketing Strategy & Campaigns

  • Assist with developing and executing marketing campaigns, promotions, and product initiatives.
  • Brainstorm campaign and promotional concepts.
  • Research competitors, consumer trends, social trends, and emerging opportunities.
  • Participate in marketing planning meetings and contribute ideas.
  • Help evaluate campaign performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Creative & Copywriting

  • Write copy for email, SMS, website promotions, product pages, social media, and other customer-facing channels.
  • Brainstorm headlines, hooks, CTAs, campaign themes, and promotional messaging.
  • Research creative trends across Instagram, TikTok, email, and beauty brands.
  • Assist with creative briefs and provide feedback based on campaign objectives.
  • Use AI tools thoughtfully to brainstorm, research, and improve marketing concepts and copy.

Email, SMS & Customer Marketing

  • Assist with developing email and SMS campaigns from concept through execution.
  • Help develop subject lines, messaging, offers, CTAs, and creative direction.
  • Assist with customer segmentation and understanding how messaging can change based on the customer.
  • Review campaign performance and use results to inform future marketing decisions.

E-Commerce & Promotions

  • Help plan and execute promotions across Shopify, Amazon, TikTok Shop, Walmart, eBay, and other marketplaces.
  • Assist with website merchandising, promotional banners, product content, and campaign updates.
  • Review product pages and customer experiences to identify opportunities to improve clarity and conversion.
  • Research promotional strategies used by competitors and leading beauty brands.

Marketing Analysis & Projects

  • Review campaign and sales performance to understand what is driving results.
  • Organize marketing data and identify trends or opportunities.
  • Assist with post-campaign analysis.
  • Support new product launches and special marketing initiatives.
  • Help manage projects and deadlines through Monday.com.
  • Work with creative, e-commerce, and external agency partners.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and follow them through from idea to execution.
What We're Looking For

You are someone who:

  • Is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Advertising, or a related field.
  • Has a genuine interest in understanding why marketing works, not just completing tasks.
  • Has strong written communication skills and enjoys writing.
  • Is creative and comfortable brainstorming new ideas.
  • Pays attention to trends in beauty, social media, e-commerce, and consumer brands.
  • Can research a topic, identify useful insights, and turn them into an idea or recommendation.
  • Takes initiative and is comfortable bringing ideas forward.
  • Is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Is comfortable receiving feedback and using it to improve.
  • Can work independently while knowing when to ask questions.
  • Is comfortable using AI tools as part of the creative and research process.

You do not need experience with every platform or tool listed below. We’re looking for someone who is curious, willing to learn, and excited to get hands-on marketing experience.

Bonus Points If You Have
  • Previous marketing, social media, e-commerce, or communications experience.
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar tools.
  • Experience writing social media, email, advertising, or promotional copy.
  • Experience managing a personal, school, or organization social media account.
  • Familiarity with Shopify, Klaviyo, Amazon Seller Central, Monday.com, or similar platforms.
  • Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Gemini.
  • An interest in beauty, hair care, fashion, or consumer brands.
  • A portfolio, class project, campaign, social account, or other work that demonstrates your creativity.
Tools You'll Have the Opportunity to Work With

Why Join Style Edit?

At Style Edit, you’ll work directly with our marketing team on real projects that reach real customers.

You’ll gain exposure to multiple areas of marketing rather than being limited to one channel, and you’ll have the opportunity to contribute ideas, create customer-facing content, analyze results, and see how marketing decisions are made inside a growing beauty brand.

You’ll also build experience and real work that you can speak to in future interviews and, where appropriate, add to your portfolio.

  • If you’re looking for an internship where you can learn by doing, think creatively, take ownership, and see how marketing works inside a growing consumer brand, we’d love to hear from you.
