Camp Counselor


General Description

Parkview Kids Camp Counselors help execute the vision to create a fun, safe, and relational space for kids to learn to love God and love others. Counselors will do this by leading small groups, planning and leading camp activities, and providing care to our campers.


Essential Job Functions

  • Lead a small group (5-10) of elementary campers daily
  • Build strong, positive relationships with campers under their care as well as parents
  • Lead campers in spiritual development
  • Help plan, set up, and implement activities each day for camp
  • Participate in staff meetings, ongoing development, and all staff activities
  • Support and develop volunteers
  • Help in the daily maintenance of camp
  • Help with extended care at minimum 1-2x a summer
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Faith: The role requires someone who loves Jesus and desires to help kids and students know Him as well
  • Energy: Camp is a high-energy experience, so being able to meet that energy and encourage kids to be involved is key.
  • Relational: Ability to connect with co-workers, parents, students, and kids
  • Shepherding: Passion to help develop and grow kids and students


Requirements

  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • Experience working with kids as a volunteer or staff is ideal
  • Available for Staff Training and minimum four of five camp weeks
  • Ability to comply with Parkview Community Church and Parkview Kids Camp staff policies and procedures
  • Growing and committed follower of Jesus
