Who we are: Hudbay is a Canadian integrated mining company with operations, development properties and exploration activities across the Americas principally focused on the discovery, production and marketing of base and precious metals. Lalor Mine is a high-grade, producing underground mine located near Snow Lake, MB. It is a major, long-life operation primarily producing Zinc, Gold, Copper, Silver, with ore processed at the nearby Stall and New Britannia Mills.

The Opportunity: We are seeking a Red Seal Industrial Electrician for our Lalor Mine located in Snow Lake, MB

Schedule:

  • The successful candidate will work 11.5hr shifts on a 7/7 (Thursdays-Wednesdays), schedule rotating dayshift/nightshift. Please note this is not a FIFO opportunity. A fully equipped camp is available for those who prefer to commute to Snow Lake with a quarterly travel allowance provided(some restrictions apply), although relocation and housing accommodation assistance is available for those who wish to relocate to the vibrant community of Snow Lake https://www.snowlake.com/

Responsibilities:

  • Interprets all types of drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals to locate and install circuits and equipment, to determine material or replacement needs, and to select logical approach to "trouble shooting" and repair problems; makes field sketches, notifies Foreman of any mechanical problems, and records revisions.
  • To inspect, repair, install, connect, service and calibrate electrical equipment and circuits, control dignals and communication systems etc. in underground and surface operations
  • Makes electrical and related mechanical repairs on such things as, fans, electric locomotives, and battery charging station equipment, switchgear.
  • Trouble shoots electrical and electronic circuits, system controls and protection devices, replaces component parts; accesses and trouble shoots programmable control systems, computer outlets.
  • Welds sufficient to install electrical equipment such as cable, conduit, and raceway support brackets, fixture hangers, junction boxes and outlet boxes,solders, cuts, heats and brazes using soldering and welding equipment.
  • Inspects, repairs, and tests mine hoist and auxiliary equipment; certifies that required tests and repairs have been performed

  •  Must be a Red Seal Journeyperson

  •      $49.59/hr plus additional underground bonus, weekend and night shift premiums
