Reports to: CCE Coordinator / JWR Program Director
Purpose: Must perform various tasks to make sure that the daily activities of each camp are set up and run smoothly. Provide a safe and diverse experience to youth based on the Community Education core values: honesty, respect, responsibility and caring.
Essential Functions:
1. Work with Program Director/Lead Camp Counselor to implement camp activities for youth and teen clubs on a daily basis.
2. Supervise, maintain discipline and manage behavior with all youth and teen campers.
3. Seek assistance from Lead Camp Counselor or Program Director as needed.
4. Maintain safety for all campers and staff. Learn and implement all safety procedures.
5. Document all accidents and provide information to the Director with written accident reports when needed.
6. Provide first aid as needed. Must have current CPR certification.
7. Work with all staff in implementing weekly activities for the youth and teen club members.
8. Develop a positive & professional relationship with the youth & teen club members and their parents.
9. Communicate camp information and choices with parents/students on a regular basis.
10. Engage with youth and teen students, parents and staff.
11. Participate in the overall evaluation of the camp programs.
12. Participate in all camp events designated by the Program Director.
13. Assist on Field trips as assigned.
14. Other duties or responsibilities may be assigned by the CCE Coordinator or JWR Program Director.

Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
2. Experience working with children, preferably in a childcare of educational environment.
3. Acquire and maintain first aid CPR certification.
4. Food handler's card preferred.
5. Must have proof of MMR vaccination.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
1. Stand for long periods of time
2. Stoop, bend, walk, run
3. Work in noisy environments
4. Physically assist students
Work Environment:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Generally, the job requires 10% sitting, 50% walking, and 40% standing. The job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

Benefits:
School Employee Benefit Board (SEBB) Eligibility determination: All eligibility determinations are based on rules in Chapters 182-30 and 182-31 of the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). If the position is anticipated to work a minimum of 630 hours in a school year, then that position would be deemed benefit eligible. Retirement Eligibility determination: A certificated position participates in the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) which requires at least 5 months of 70 or more hours of compensated employment during a school year to be eligible for Washington State Retirement. A classified position participates in the School Employee Retirement System (SERS) if the position is expected to require at least 5 months of 70 hours or more for two consecutive years (initially) of employment.
