Program Dates: July 27 - July 31, 2026
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Inspire the Next Generation of Gardeners!
Athletes Global Corporation (AGC) is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Gardening Camp Instructor to lead a fun, interactive, and educational week-long gardening camp for the City of Mansfield Parks & Recreation.
PLEASE double check the location, dates, and times and can do the entire camp.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with youth and has a passion for gardening, environmental education, horticulture, or agriculture. The ideal instructor will create an engaging, hands-on learning environment where campers explore gardening techniques, plant science, sustainability, and environmental stewardship while developing practical life skills.
The program will be held in the Magnolia Room with access to outdoor learning areas for hands-on gardening activities.
What You'll Do
  • Plan and lead engaging daily gardening lessons and hands-on activities.
  • Teach campers about plant life cycles, soil health, composting, watering, and garden maintenance.
  • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for participants.
  • Demonstrate the safe and proper use of gardening tools and equipment.
  • Encourage teamwork, creativity, responsibility, and appreciation for nature.
  • Prepare lesson materials and maintain gardening supplies throughout the week.
  • Adapt activities to accommodate different ages and experience levels.
  • Communicate professionally with program staff and parents as needed.

Qualifications
  • Experience teaching gardening, horticulture, agriculture, environmental science, or related subjects.
  • Experience working with children or leading youth programs, camps, or educational activities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities.
  • Knowledge of gardening techniques, plant care, and outdoor safety practices.
  • Ability to manage groups of children in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Passion for gardening and environmental education.
  • Experience leading outdoor educational programs or summer camps.
  • Ability to inspire curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, lift gardening materials, and actively participate throughout the program.
