Job description

Lifeguard

Department: Recreation Programs
Location: Camp Cheerful
Pay: $20.00hr
Reports To: Manager of Camp Programs

Position Overview
The Lifeguard ensures the health, safety, and well-being of campers during pool, and daily camp activities while creating a positive, inclusive camp experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor pool and waterfront areas to ensure camper safety

  • Open and close the pool daily and maintain a clean pool environment

  • Enforce safety rules and respond to weather or hazardous conditions

  • Lead and participate in camp activities, encouraging camper engagement

  • Provide direct care and support for campers daily living needs

  • Assist with documentation, incident reporting, and staff communication

Required Qualifications

  • Current Lifeguard Certification (re-certification reimbursement available)

  • Minimum age of 18

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Experience working with children (preferred)

  • Camp or disability-related experience (preferred)
