Job description

As a Sewer CCTV Locator, you will support the sewer camera inspection crew by accurately locating and marking underground sewer mains and laterals identified during CCTV inspections. You will work directly with the Sewer Camera Operator to ensure proper documentation for reporting, construction planning, and damage prevention. Your role will be key in maintaining accuracy, safety, and overall project efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Locate underground sewer mains and laterals using electronic locating equipment connected to CCTV cameras and sondes.
  • Accurately mark sewer lines on the ground based on camera inspection data.
  • Assist the Camera Operator during inspections by tracking camera position, footage, and depths.
  • Verify sewer locations before, during, and after drilling or utility installation activities.
  • Create clear and accurate field sketches, measurements, and notes related to sewer locations.
  • Assist with drawing property cards and mapping sewer infrastructure for documentation.
  • Communicate sewer locations and potential conflicts with the Camera Operator, supervisors, and field crews.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of CCTV and locating equipment.
  • Maintain, clean, and properly store locating equipment and related tools.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and jobsite-specific requirements.
  • Participate in safety meetings, tailgate briefings, and required training.
  • Work in varying weather conditions and active jobsite environments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with sewer CCTV locating equipment or underground utility locating preferred.
  • Ability to read basic maps, sketches, and inspection reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with operators and field crews.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including walking job sites, bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
