Carpenter Co has an immediate opening on 2nd shift for Operator B in our Bedding department at our Riverside, CA manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the safe operation of a specific piece of equipment used to manufacture components and finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule. This position is also responsible for assembling foam parts, assisting the machine operator with materials for the machines and maintain the department/area so that it is in clean condition free of unnecessary material and/or debris. This position works in a normal production/maintenance environment with exposure to temperature changes and loud noise.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the successful candidate, you will be expected to maintain daily communications with Department Manager and other employees in the department. Major responsibilities involve producing products with varying cutting instructions based production requirements.

Your additional responsibilities as an Operator B will include:

  1. Perform cutting operations according to internal and external customer specifications.
  2. Records pertinent data into the SAP system
  3. Conducts quality checks of all material to meet customer specifications
  4. Follow work instructions to maintain requirements.
  5. Make adjustments to cutting requirements to maintain efficiency.
  6. Make sure all finished product is labeled correctly
  7. Maintain a neat, orderly and safe work environment
  8. Assist with inventory
  9. Performing quality check processes by measuring material and ensuring that it matches the specification on each label
  10. Operating the bale machine

Skills and requirements

  • Must be able to read and interpret a tape measure
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime
  • Forklift certified

Pay depends on qualifications and experience. The Operator B hourly rate starts at $25.95 per hour.
