Job Description
General Summary
The LTO is responsible for providing value to our customer and BD standards of safety, accuracy and productivity.
Essential Functions
Shipping/Receiving
  • The LTO is responsible for the safe and accurate loading, unloading, bulk picking, put-away and staging of product. This includes ensuring that truck tires are chocked. Ensure that information is exchanged between dock and office staff concerning all inbound and outbound shipments. Truck orders are to be pulled according to shipping document information. Any discrepancy between the inventory count and shipping documents are to be researched with a member of the office/inventory staff to ensure an accurate count is made. The accuracy of the inventory is of utmost importance. Adhere to all forklift operation procedures discussed at the forklift operators qualification/certification meeting.

Re-Warehousing
  • Must be able to identify pallet ID tags and document information. This requires the ability to write, match numbers, and identify correct location codes.

Order Picking
  • Must be able to accurately pick product. This requires the ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 50 lbs.

Quality
  • All work should be performed at a high quality level. Any errors should be resolved through established processes. Check or count products for accuracy and/or damage and infestation. Participate in the Lean program.

Physical Inventories
  • Participate in physical inventories as needed.

Equipment
  • Material handling equipment must be operated in a safe manner by designated associates only. All damage to product, equipment or other company property must be reported. Equipment must be kept neat and orderly in compliance with guidelines set forth in the maintenance procedures.

Reporting/Measurements
  • Ensure all warehouse activity records are prepared in a timely manner and effectively maintained. Review operating goals and standards on a daily basis to monitor achievement.

Loading Trucks
  • Pallets are pulled from staging area and put on trucks. Verify that orders were picked correctly. Ensure every effort is made to load pallets in a manner that promotes safety and impedes damages. Ensure shipping documents identify seal number and obtain signature from driver.

Safety/Sanitation/Housekeeping
  • Lean manufacturing processes including 5S must be followed at all times. Keep warehouse and work area clean, neat and orderly. Recognize our customer and BD's commitment to pride and Quality. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and conduct all activities in a manner that promotes a safe environment. All injuries and accidents must be reported immediately to a supervisor or manager.

Cross Training
  • Become knowledgeable with responsibilities of the other positions as directed by management. Assist as required. Act as backup at times of absence or vacation.

Miscellaneous / Other
  • All associates are responsible for full participation in the daily stretching program. Participate in physical inventories. Perform other miscellaneous duties as required.
