Job Title: Depowering Operator
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00/7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (OT as needed)
Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour
Job Description
Midway Staffing is seeking reliable and motivated Depowering Operators to join our team in Oklahoma City, OK. You’ll be working with electric vehicle battery packs in a fast-paced environment where these batteries are repaired, refurbished, and repurposed. Training will be provided, and you’ll work under the supervision of the production team.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Punctual and dependable attendance.
  • Measure voltage with a multimeter.
  • Safely connect dead wires to short batteries.
  • Unload and reload pallets throughout the day.
  • Perform team lifts of batteries (up to 137 lbs.).
  • Wrap and band pallets after CMA (Cell Module Assembly) swaps.
  • Maintain daily housekeeping standards.
  • Scan and verify pallets for accuracy.
  • Depower and disassemble battery packs using tools.
  • Sort materials as needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear proper PPE (high-visibility vest, steel/composite toe boots, gloves, safety glasses).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safety and ability to follow procedures.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must provide and wear steel or composite toe boots daily (required from day one).
  • PPE such as vests, gloves, and safety glasses will be provided.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to individually lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to team lift up to 137 lbs. (each person lifting half).
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and lifting.
  • Good hand/finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Must be able to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed in a warehouse environment that may not be temperature controlled.
  • Exposure to dust and fumes is possible.
  • Some outdoor work may be required.
