Job description

Schedule: Monday-Friday 4am - 1pm
As an IT Installer at Velociti Services you will partner at one of our clients' sites and conduct installation and maintenance of installation of equipment for networks. This position will install low voltage cabling for networks, signage, and cameras.
Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Low voltage cabling and terminations
  • Fiber cabling and terminations
  • HMLP hardware installations
  • Basic Network Programming (Patch panel port configuration)
  • Signage (digital) installation and maintenance
  • Camera installation and maintenance
  • Building IT hardware installations, such as WiFi access points
  • Power connections and runs
  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
  • Create Work Orders and Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
  • Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
  • Operating appropriate equipment to conduct work
  • Ability to be on call to support operational issues with cameras, signage, sensors, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested

Required Skills / Abilities:
  • TWIC Card or ability to obtain
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication ability
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
  • In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • Minimum 2 years of experience on IT / Communication equipment installation
  • Able to bend pipe and understand electrical National Electrical Codes

Physical Requirements:
Applicants for this role must be able to:
  • Able to hear and speak on a telephone.
  • Close visual work on a computer terminal.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
