Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's mostcomplex technical challenges. We are seeking aCOMSECEngineer to join the F-35 program in Arlington, Virginia.

The F-35 JointProgram Office (JPO) leads life-cycle management of the F-35 Lightning II, the fifth-generation jointstrike fighter serving the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, Cooperative Program Partners (CPP), and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers across multiple classification levels.

Support includes Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Special Access Programs (SAP), North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and SensitiveCompartmented Information (SCI). The F-35 JPO Security Directorate provides full-spectrum, multi-disciplined security support to protect F-35 technology and information across the enterprise and throughout the acquisition and sustainment lifecycle, spanning Continental United States (CONUS) and overseas operations globally.

The role of theCOMSECEngineer (Senior) is to provide senior-levelCOMSECengineering and material account management support for F-35 JPO facilities and classifiedcommunication systems, operating under the direction of theCOMSECEngineer Functional Lead in accordance with National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Defense (DoD)COMSECprogram requirements:

  • PerformCOMSECmaterial accounting, inventory, and safeguarding functionsin accordance withNSACOMSECMaterial Control System (CMCS) and DoDCOMSECaccount management requirements
  • SupportCOMSECaccount management operations, including key management, issuance, destruction, and emergency destruction planning for NSA-approved cryptographic equipment and keying material
  • ConductCOMSECequipment inspections, maintenance coordination, and operational status reporting across assigned F-35 JPO facilities
  • ProvideSME-level technical guidance on NSA-approved cryptographic systems and associated operational security procedures
  • Manage Controlled Cryptographic Item (CCI) documentation, inventory records, and reporting requirementsin accordance withapplicable NSA and DoD policy
  • Assist withCOMSEC-related facility accreditation activities and TEMPEST coordination asrequired
  • Maintain allCOMSECStandard Operating Procedures (SOPs), destruction certificates, and account documentation current andaccuratein accordance withtask order requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, OR Bachelor's Degree plus four (4) years ofadditionalCOMSECorcommunications security engineeringexperience
  • A minimum of ten (10) years ofexperience performingCOMSECaccount management andCOMSECengineering functions in support of DoD orintelligencecommunity programs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NSACOMSECMaterial Control System (CMCS) and applicableCommittee on National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI) policies governingCOMSECaccount management
  • Experience managing Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCIs) and NSA-approved key management infrastructure
  • COMSECCustodian or AlternateCOMSECCustodian qualificationrequiredwithin six (6) months of hire
  • Top Secret/SAR/SCI clearancerequired

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $128,039 - $173,229. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
