This position plays an integral role in providing security and safety to all individuals accessing the hospital (staff, patients, clients and visitors).  As a multicultural facility, the individuals is maintained.  This is a hands-on position requiring people to be able to:  handcuff, restrain combative patients, and defuse violent or aggressive situations when they arise.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Provide general security to the entire facility, including locking and unlocking doors, patrolling the facility and grounds, monitoring security cameras, enforcing parking regulations, issuing parking passes, tickets, lockers and keys, and processing payments/counting cash. Providing daily and pre-landing inspections of the heliport.
  • Restraining combative patients, perform individual patient watches, assist in locating missing or wandering patients, calling codes during emergencies, and admits/discharges bodies from the morgue.
  • Monitors suspicious activities, apprehending and detaining suspects, removing and cataloguing dangerous weapons, and escorting individuals from the property.
  • Extensive and comprehensive report writing using a specific application on a cell phone.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to work a 12-hour shift rotation. 

Due to the hands-on nature of the role, extensive training will be provided to successful candidates which includes handcuff training and defensive tactics training.  Successful candidates will be required to pass a basic physical test.

Indigenous candidates and those possessing a Saskatchewan Security Guard training certificate will be given preference.  Candidates without the certificate will be considered.  Must be 18 years of age or older.

Il s’agit d’un poste pratique qui exige notamment la capacité de menotter et de maîtriser des patients agités ou agressifs, ainsi que de désamorcer les situations violentes ou agressives lorsqu’elles surviennent.

Les tâches comprennent, sans toutefois s’y limiter :

  • Assurer la sécurité générale de l’ensemble de l’établissement, notamment en verrouillant et déverrouillant les portes, en effectuant des rondes dans l’établissement et sur les terrains, en surveillant les caméras de sécurité et en faisant respecter les règlements relatifs au stationnement.
  • Distribuer des permis de stationnement, des contraventions, des casiers et des clés, ainsi que traiter les paiements et effectuer le décompte des espèces.
  • Effectuer les inspections quotidiennes et les inspections préalables à l’atterrissage de l’héliport.
  • Maîtriser les patients agités ou agressifs, assurer la surveillance individuelle des patients et aider à retrouver les patients portés disparus ou errants.
  • Appeler les codes d’urgence lors de situations critiques et assurer l’admission et la sortie des dépouilles de la morgue.
  • Surveiller les activités suspectes, appréhender et retenir les personnes suspectées, retirer et inventorier les armes ou objets dangereux, et escorter les personnes hors de la propriété.
  • Rédiger des rapports détaillés et complets à l’aide d’une application spécifique sur un téléphone cellulaire.
  • Les candidats doivent être disposés et capables de travailler selon un horaire rotatif comprenant des quarts de 12 heures.

En raison de la nature pratique du poste, une formation approfondie sera offerte aux candidats retenus. Celle-ci comprendra notamment une formation sur les techniques de menottage et les techniques de défense. Les candidats retenus devront également réussir un test physique de base.

Les candidats autochtones ainsi que les personnes détenant un certificat de formation d’agent de sécurité de la Saskatchewan seront privilégiés. Les candidats ne possédant pas ce certificat seront également considérés.

Les candidats doivent être âgés de 18 ans ou plus.
