About Our Customer

4way Recruitment has partnered directly with an established and accredited fire protection provider to secure a permanent Fire Alarm Engineer to join their growing engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, all-round Fire Alarm Engineer looking for a varied role covering installation, servicing, maintenance, fault finding and commissioning.

The position is predominantly based across Essex, with occasional travel into London. There is no call-out requirement, making this a great opportunity for an engineer looking for a strong work-life balance alongside good earning potential.

Salary and Benefits – Fire Alarm Engineer
  • Salary up to £45,000
  • KPI bonus scheme
  • No call-out

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays

Key Responsibilities – Fire Alarm Engineer
  • Install, service, maintain, fault find and commission fire alarm systems.
  • Work across a range of commercial customer sites and projects.
  • Commission and work with open-protocol systems including Advanced, Kentec and C-TEC.
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs and remedial works.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and system documentation.
  • Carry out testing and ensure systems are operating correctly and compliantly.
  • Complete service, installation and commissioning documentation.
  • Work to relevant standards including BS 5839 and BS 7671.
  • Provide a professional service and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Support installation projects and provide technical input where required.
Skills and Experience – Fire Alarm Engineer
  • Solid experience across fire alarm installation, servicing and commissioning.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good understanding of electrical systems and wiring.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with Advanced, Kentec or C-TEC systems would be advantageous.
  • FIA Units 1–5 or equivalent qualifications would be beneficial.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations would be advantageous.
  • Relevant fire industry qualifications or competency certificates.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a variety of jobs.
