What does a call center support rep do?

A Call Center Support Representative is responsible for handling inbound and outbound customer calls on behalf of a company. They assist customers by answering questions, resolving issues, providing information about products or services, and sometimes processing orders or payments. These professionals must have excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to handle difficult situations calmly. Their role is crucial in maintaining customer satisfaction and representing the company's brand positively.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a call center support rep?

To thrive as a Call Center Support Rep, you need excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and typically a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software, call routing systems, and ticketing tools is often required. Patience, active listening, and resilience are critical soft skills for handling high call volumes and diverse customer concerns. These skills ensure efficient resolution of issues, customer satisfaction, and effective representation of the company’s brand.

How does a call center support rep typically collaborate with other departments to resolve customer issues?

Call Center Support Reps often work closely with teams such as technical support, billing, and sales to resolve customer inquiries efficiently. When a customer’s issue extends beyond the rep’s immediate authority or expertise, the rep will document the case and escalate it to the appropriate department, ensuring all necessary information is conveyed for a timely resolution. Regular communication with these teams helps streamline processes and provides customers with a seamless support experience. This collaborative approach not only enhances customer satisfaction but also builds valuable internal relationships within the organization.

Job description

$150K - $250K In-Home Sales Closer
We set the appointments. You close them.
Southern National Roofing is hiring in-home closers. Every appointment is set and confirmed by our in-house call center. No cold calling, no door knocking, no self-generating leads. You show up, run the process, and close.
What You Can Earn
β€’ On Target Earnings: $150,000 - $250,000, uncapped
β€’ First-year reps who run the process: $150,000+
β€’ Proven closers: $250,000+
β€’ $500 weekly draw against commission, paid every Friday, starting week one
β€’ Monthly bonus opportunities
Appointments That Actually Sit
10-12 confirmed appointments a week. Not 10-12 names on a list.
Every one is pre-qualified and confirmed by our in-house call center, and our sit rate leads the industry. If you have ever been promised a full calendar and shown up to an empty driveway, this is the difference.
The Training Is the Difference
A paid two-week training program in Charlotte, NC with a dedicated training department.
You will not be handed a brochure and sent out to figure it out. We train you on a proven, step-by-step process: what to say, how to say it, and what comes next. That is not about scripting your personality out of the room. It takes the guesswork off your plate so your attention goes where it belongs, on control and rapport. The process does the selling.
A Day in the Life
β€’ Meet with 2-3 pre-qualified homeowners
β€’ Inspect the home and diagnose the roof
β€’ Present the solution and the financing
β€’ Close on the first visit. These are one-call-close appointments, not two-week follow-up cycles.
β€’ Hand it to an install team that moves fast, and go home. No prospecting, no pipeline to build.
What We Provide
β€’ Ongoing coaching built on real call reviews, not once-a-year role play
β€’ 9 markets across NC, SC, GA, MD and PA, with a promote-from-within track
β€’ GAF Presidents Club, top 1% of roofers nationwide. A+ BBB accredited. Inc. 5000. $25M+ and growing.
Who Wins Here
Sales experience preferred, not required. Our best closers came out of car sales, retail, restaurant management, and jobs with nothing to do with sales at all.
Your first thirty days are the hardest part of this job. You are learning a process, not improvising, and the people who make it here are the ones who run it exactly as taught before they start editing it. If you are coachable and competitive, the rest takes care of itself.
The Real Schedule
Appointments run at 1pm and 6pm Monday through Friday, and 10am and 2pm on Saturday. Team meeting Tuesday through Thursday at 11am.
This is a six-day week with evening appointments. Here is what you get back: no 7am huddle, no office to sit in, and your mornings belong to you. The 6pm slot is where the money is.
Requirements
    • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
    • Able to travel to Charlotte, NC for the paid training
    • Evening and Saturday availability
    • Comfortable presenting in a homeowner's living room and working from a tablet

Benefits
  • Pre-qualified appointments provided - no cold calling, no door knocking
  • 8-12 confirmed in-home appointments weekly so you spend time closing, not prospecting
  • Paid two-week professional sales training in Charlotte, NC with a proven closing system
  • Weekly draw + uncapped commission
  • Performance bonuses and incentive opportunities
  • High average ticket projects with strong close rates
  • Established brand and marketing engine generating consistent lead flow
  • Fast installation and operations support so you can focus on selling
  • Multiple office locations and long-term advancement opportunities
