Breast Call Center Representative

A phone call can make a meaningful difference in a patientโ€™s experience, especially when they are navigating the next steps in their breast care.
As a Breast Call Center Representative with the Breast Center of Fairfax, youโ€™ll be an important connection between our patients and their care team. Youโ€™ll help patients understand what comes next, coordinate follow-up appointments, communicate negative breast pathology results, and make sure every interaction is handled with compassion, clarity, and professionalism.
This role is ideal for someone who understands radiology workflows, is comfortable managing a high volume of calls, and knows how to make patients feel heard and cared for, even over the phone.

What Youโ€™ll Do
Working under the direction of the designated Breast Center Manager and as part of a collaborative team, you will:
  • Initiate and answer patient calls related to mammography screening additional-view scheduling and negative breast pathology results.
  • Utilize RIS worklists to accurately manage patient communication and scheduling.
  • Compassionately communicate results and next steps to patients while helping them navigate the care process.
  • Coordinate with patients, referring physicians, FRC team members, and radiologists to support timely, seamless care.
  • Deliver an exceptional patient experience by answering questions clearly, demonstrating empathy, and returning calls promptly.
  • Accurately complete worklist responsibilities while meeting daily productivity expectations.
  • Effectively manage a high-volume call environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Build collaborative relationships with healthcare providers to help reduce barriers to patient care.
  • Protect patient privacy and maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable federal and state requirements.
What You Bring
Required
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of radiology experience highly preferred.
  • Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) and/or Radiology Information System (RIS) platforms.
    • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite is essential
    • Experience with Medinformatix is highly preferred
  • Strong telephone communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain professional, composed, and compassionate in every interaction.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and external healthcare organizations.
  • Strong time-management, coordination, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft email and standard office procedures.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods throughout the workday.

Compensation
Based on your qualifications and experience, the compensation range for this position is:
$22.10 - $27.95 per hour
Placement within the range is determined by factors including experience, education, certifications, and internal equity.
