Job description

Equivity is seeking an experienced California Paralegal with at least 3 years of experience supporting attorneys in multiple practice areas, including family law, personal injury, probate, estate planning, or civil litigation.

As part of our remote team, you'll provide high-level virtual support to attorneys while enjoying the flexibility of remote work backed by Equivity's experienced operations team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide paralegal support across multiple California practice areas
  • Draft legal documents, organize case files, and manage deadlines
  • Communicate professionally with clients during business hours (9 AM–6 PM)
  • Coordinate with attorneys, courts, and third parties
  • Support matters from intake through resolution
  • Independently manage a consistent workload of 20–40 hours per week


About You

  • 3+ years of experience in a California law firm
  • Experience in at least two practice areas (PI, family law, probate, estate planning, or civil litigation)
  • Knowledge of California courts, e-filing, and Judicial Council forms preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and case management software (Clio, MyCase, or similar)
  • Highly organized with excellent communication and time management skills
  • Windows-based computer, reliable internet, and smartphone required
