Job description

Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Calibration Tech - 1st Shift to join our team in Beltsville, MD!
The core hours are 9 am - 5:30 pm.
The hourly rate for this position is $27.50 per hour.

What you'll do:
The Calibration Technician is responsible for inspecting dimensions to print for our ducting value stream and upholding the quality and integrity of all parts manufactured. They support operations in a leadership facet to help meet i goals to both our suppliers and customers.
In this function, you will:
  • Visually and manually inspect manufactured parts per acceptance criteria
  • Dimensionally inspect manufactured parts with CMM or advanced measuring technique per acceptance criteria.
  • Read/interpret advanced blue prints, assembly drawings, angularity, profile, and various datum's (Vectors)
  • Have working knowledge of multiple product lines with emerging leadership roles and responsibilities
  • Document all receiving, in-process, and final inspection findings.
  • Have 5S+ involvement which includes but not limited to your working area
  • Uphold quality integrity and generate non-conformance reports when parts don't meet specifications
  • Work with MFG-PRO to process parts systematically and WISPER for DMR generations
  • Use hand tools including gage R and R as well as material analysis processing
  • Read and interpret advance blue prints, reverse engineer prints, establish inspection methodology
  • Utilize advanced operating systems background and work within Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Inspect or generate programs per CNC/CMM inspection

Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Quality experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree or Technical certification from an accredited institution.
  • Experience working with inspection plans, first piece layout, FAIR's, mil certs and COC's
  • Advanced blueprint reading, GD & T, and CMM training/certification
  • Knowledge and experience scanning & programming from solid models Mitutoyo, MCOSMOS software a plus. (Preferred)

Skills:
  • Strong communication skills to read, write, and speak with teammates and customers.
  • Must be able to stand/walk 8+ hours/day with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to to lift up to 35lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints and technical specifications
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to organize and report test results
  • Ability to work independently with no supervision
  • Possible exposure to radiation through the use of a XRF device for scanning material
