Job Description: Substitute Custodian
We are seeking a diligent and reliable individual to join our team as a School Custodian. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the school premises, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students, teachers, and staff.
Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas according to established schedules and procedures.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors as needed.
Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly.
Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, chairs, windowsills, a
Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, paper towels, and hand sanitizer.
Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and notify supervisor when supplies need to be reordered.
Assist in minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and repairing minor damages.
Follow safety protocols and guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals and operating equipment.
Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or security concerns to the appropriate authorities.
Collaborate with other custodial staff members to complete larger cleaning projects or tasks efficiently.
Provide assistance during special events or emergencies, including setup.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work preferred.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
