Specific Accountabilities:

  • Assist and evaluate the best baking practices and procedures.
  • Assist in the developing and maintaining of a complete cake line including seasonal rotational items and tracking current cake trends
  • Identify daily production needs of authorized bakery products
  • Decorate a variety of stock production cakes to fill store orders
  • Decorate special order cakes based on the guest’s request or using own creative designs
  • Verify correctness of special order items
  • Wrap, package, label and merchandise product
  • Stage product for shipment to stores
  • Complete and track shipments by entering quantities shipped into computer system
  • Load and unload ovens, cool and de-pan product
  • Mix icing and ice cakes
  • Clean and sanitize department including equipment, work areas, service areas, containers and utensils
  • Follow safe food handling and personal hygiene practices
  • Follow safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout of equipment
  • Record all waste to ensure accurate shrink information
  • Demonstrate behaviors that will win guests for life.   
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for meeting expectations, goals, and quality of work. 
  • Communicate clearly and in a timely manner and use constructive feedback to make improvements. 
  • Work together as one team by recognizing accomplishments, demonstrating respect and appreciation, and actively helping others.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • High school diploma 
  • Degree in Baking or Pastry                                                                                                                                                                
  • Current certification in food safety desired
  • Minimum 2 years of prior decorating experience
  • Ability to use decorating tools including a pastry bag, airbrush gun, Kopycake system and edible image program
  • Proficient attention to detail including the ability to create decorations while making sure the design is uniform.
  • Proficient communication and interpersonal skills, including written, verbal and listening skills
  • Proficient decorating skills, including the artistic ability to create and produce designs
  • Proficient cleaning abilities to meet sanitation and visual standards
