Culinary Associate

Friday - Sunday | 12-Hour ShiftsWork 3 Days, Enjoy 4 Days Off!

As a Culinary Associate, you'll be a key member of our team, helping ensure patients and staff receive exceptional food service while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and organization. Your contributions directly support our mission of providing quality behavioral healthcare in a compassionate environment.

Position Summary:

The Culinary Associate is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, silverware, pots and pans etc. Sanitizing trash containers, food carts, utility carts, cleaning and sanitizing dish room area and any other general cleaning duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Assists in preparing foods and drinks. 
  2. Serves and replenishes food supply. 
  3. Cleans cafeteria and/or kitchen areas, which includes: wiping down tables, placing trays in the proper location, picking up trash, sweeping and mopping floors, loading dishwashers cleaning refrigerators and freezers, cleaning ovens, and putting garbage cans in proper locations.  
  4. Prepares cafeteria for meals, which includes: placing food in hot carts, rotating foods, preparing and monitoring the availability of utensils and napkins, preparing trays, placing scoops and/or spoons for serving. 
  5. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
  6. Cleans and maintains floors in walk-in and kitchen areas. Cleans all drains in kitchen. Cleans all major equipment, hoods and facility on a scheduled basis when assigned.
  7. Removes trash and recyclable items and transports to collection areas.
  8. Perform other functions as assigned by the Director of Culinary Services.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no supervisory or managerial responsibilities.

COMPETENCIES:

  4. Ethical Conduct.
  5. Ability to perform tasks independently.
  6. Knowledge of tools, equipment, and methods of system service and repair.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a kitchen environment, housed with equipment such as an oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer and chef’s knives.  The employee is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time, reach, lift, band, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. 

 

TRAVEL:

This position requires no travel.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required
