Job description

Expo - Snow City Cafe
Summary
The Expo’s primary responsibility is to be the liaison between the front of house and the back of house. Their basic duties are to ensure that all plates leaving the kitchen are properly presented and prepared, are at the proper temperature, and that all items on a ticket go out to the correct table together on time.
Operations
  • In-depth knowledge of all menu items: ingredients and cooking methods
  • Inspects all plates before “selling” a ticket and only sends out food that is accurately prepared and presentable
  • Deals with guest comments and complaints effectively, empathetically, and with a smile; can “make it right.”
  • Advocates for the guest
  • Handles guest dietary/allergy restrictions with respect and patience. Every effort is made to ensure that these needs are met. Is knowledgeable about food allergens and takes any allergy alerts seriously
  • Addresses all server questions and issues and communicates them to the line if necessary
  • Communicate all problems with the MOD and/or Kitchen Supervisor
  • Knows restaurant operating procedures and follows them
  • Organize, restock, and clean whenever there is a free moment
  • Oversees all To Go orders, making sure they are accurate and complete, in the correct packaging, and include all necessities: napkins, To Go cutlery, crackers, jam, butter, syrup, etc.
  • Knows table numbers and seat position points. Can deliver orders to guests and fulfill the basic needs of the guests

Other Qualifications
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must be able to communicate, write, and understand English
  • Must be able to work, standing and walking, in a fast-paced environment for up to 9 hours
  • Must have a current Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card
