The Principal Designer - Piping is responsible for performing detailed design activities in the Piping discipline. 


Essential Functions 

  • Perform complex designs and layouts of Piping & Instrument Diagrams, Piping Plans, Sections & Isometrics and Piping Bill of Materials utilizing CAD hardware and software. 
  • Communicate and coordinate between offices in Mexico City and Houston 
  • Review vendor drawings and information. 
  • Train and direct designers and other CAD personnel. 
  • Ability to function in lead role on projects. 

Requirements

Qualifications 

  • 10 years of CAD experience 
  • 15 or more years of design experience in a design/drafting environment developing Piping & Instrument Designs (P&IDs), 3D Models, piping plans and sections and piping bills of materials generated from 3D models. 
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English 
  • CADWorx Admin capabilities are a plus 
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards 
  • Previous project leadership Preferred 
  • Experience in piping projects for pipeline companies' and/or upstream companies' compressor stations, pump stations and oil/gas facilities Preferred 
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving skills 
  • Proficient in latest versions of CADWorx, AutoCAD and Navisworks 
  • Microsoft Excel 
  • Microsoft Word 

Education 

  • High school diploma required 
  • Associates Degree or certification from technical trade preferred
