Job description

Senior Piping Designer (CADWorx) – Industrial & Semiconductor

Location: Hybrid (2 Days In-Office / 3 Days Remote)

Office Requirement: Candidates must reside within 50 miles of a regional office location.
Experience Level: 10+ Years (Senior)

The Opportunity

We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Piping Designer to join our Industrial Facilities team. This role is specifically focused on developing complex piping routings within Semiconductor facilities. We are looking for a true Designer—someone who understands the functional "why" behind a system’s layout, rather than just a modeler who executes coordinates.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Design & Routing: Develop intelligent piping routings from point-to-point, ensuring functional effectiveness, operability, and adherence to complex semiconductor facility requirements.
  • Support Integration: Independently design and place your own piping supports, demonstrating a fundamental understanding of pipe stress and routing logic.
  • Advanced Modeling: Utilize CADWorx at an expert level to create high-accuracy 3D models and deliverables.
  • Interdisciplinary Leadership: Lead portions of project scopes and coordinate directly with engineers to ensure design consistency and model health.
  • Technical Quality: Perform QA/QC reviews and provide technical input on design standards and workshare execution.

Required Qualifications & Technical Standards

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of piping design experience in industrial settings (Semiconductor, Oil & Gas, Chemical, or Pharmaceutical).
  • Software Mastery: At least 5–10 years of recent and consistent experience in CADWorx (2020 to present). Candidates must possess an advanced, self-sufficient command of the software.
  • Design Philosophy: Must demonstrate the ability to design functionally, not just model. You must understand piping specifications, equipment interfaces, and the logic of routing for maintenance and operations.
  • Self-Sufficiency: Ability to work independently with general oversight, managing assigned tasks and deadlines with high organizational accuracy.
  • Education: Associate’s degree in Design Technology or a related field (or 2+ years of equivalent practical experience).

Preferred Expertise

  • Prior experience specifically within Semiconductor or high-purity environments.
  • Advanced capability in CADWorx troubleshooting and specification management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology.

Work Arrangement

This is a Hybrid role requiring two days per week in a regional office. Candidates living within a 50-mile radius of an office hub are expected to adhere to this hybrid schedule; fully remote arrangements are not being considered for local candidates.
