The Job:

As a Field Sales Representative, you'll be part of our Nelson Stud Welding Sales team working as a remote employee. This territory includes Washington and Alaska. You'll get to:

  • Identify current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport.
  • Provide product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Establish and service new accounts identifying potential customers; planning and organizing sales calls.
  • Prepare cost estimates by studying basic blueprints, plans, and related customer documents.
  • Consult and promote products with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel.
  • Determine improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in customer environment.
  • Gain customer acceptance by explaining and demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements.
  • Submit orders by conferring with technical support staff and Inside Sales/Customer Service.
  • Prepare sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, engineering and application trends.
  • The position will require general travel throughout the territory of WA and AK. You will be supported by our regional warehouse in Seattle, WA.

The Person:

  • Basic troubleshooting skills and a general knowledge of basic hand tools.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude, as the position does require some minor mechanical and light electrical repairs at the customer locations.
  • This is a service based selling position, requiring travel throughout the territory in WA and AK. The ideal candidate would live within this territory to be able to best serve the customer base.
  • Any experience in the construction industry and working with shipyards is a definite advantage.
  • A successful candidate will gain and retain customers with excellent sales skills, customer support and communication.

The Total Target Cash Compensation range for this position is $84,000.00 - $135,200.00
