Assist in maintaining the Department's Engineering Software standards and documentation: Best practices refers to the best way to use the Bentley software to achieve design or plan preparation goals or the best way to use the GDOT workspace to achieves these goals. Develop CADD software best practices

  • Investigate new and emerging CADD technology and make recommendations to Department personnel and management for implementation
  • What CADD programming language experience would be required or strongly preferred? (Ex. Python, OpenSCAD, KCL, etc.) Some knowledge of Visual Basic would be nice. Python would be really nice. Neither are required.
  • Is this more of a technical role or a functional role (bsuiness analyst)? Or a mix of both. I think this is more of a technical role, but I'm a bit unsure on the difference between them. This will be very similar to how Vance Jones operates for us.
  • Public Sector or Commercial (enterprise) experience required or preferred? Public sector experience preferred.
  • Is Transportation experience a must-have or nice-to-have? Transportation engineering background is a huge plus.
