Job description

The employer for this position is Phoenix Investors.


Phoenix Investors is seeking a CAD Drafter and Designer to join our talented team. Duties include field measuring at our various warehouses and facilities across the United States. You will also use lasers and a combination of AutoCAD or Revit software to create new blueprints used for leasing and construction purposes. This position will assist in the programming and initial design and, in some cases, the development of construction drawings/documents for interior buildouts for incoming tenants. You will be responsible for scanning and organizing the original blueprints received upon purchase of new properties; additional design or construction tasks will be performed as needed.


This position requires an individual who is very attentive to detail and can work accurately in a fast-paced environment. You must be well-organized, able to work well on a team, and have superior verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate must also be a problem-solver with the ability to adapt to changing situations. Scheduling flexibility to travel in and out of state, including overnight stays lasting up to several days, is required. You must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment, either with an associate or alone, to perform field measuring.


Required Proficiencies

  • AutoCAD 2020 or newer
  • Proficient in all Microsoft programs, including Outlook
  • Basic knowledge of Revit Architecture is preferred
  • Must be familiar with the various materials and construction methods used in the industry
  • Must be a problem-solver who can learn quickly


Recommended Proficiencies

  • Knowledge of the International Building Code (highly recommended)
  • Knowledge of Wisconsin SPS Code
  • Knowledge of ADA Compliance Codes
  • Knowledge of programming and schematic design
  • Knowledge of SketchUp, Rhino, and any other rendering programs
