Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a CAD Designer to support a company focused on advanced engineering, scientific research, and national security technology development. This position is on-site in Albuquerque, NM. The CAD Designer will support engineering teams by creating and maintaining complex 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings for highly specialized projects. Responsibilities for the CAD Designer include:
  • Create and modify 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings from established engineering concepts and designs
  • Develop technical documentation and production drawings for complex mechanical systems and equipment
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and scientists to interpret design requirements, manufacturing processes, materials, and project schedules
  • Support large, complex assemblies consisting of hundreds to thousands of components
  • Assist with configuration management, document control, and design documentation activities
Required Qualifications for the CAD Designer include:
  • 3+ years of experience with Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD)
  • Experience with 3D modeling, large assemblies, and technical drawing creation
  • Proficiency with PTC Creo, Windchill/PDMLink, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles and manufacturing processes
  • Associate's degree in a related technical field
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L Clearance
Compensation for the CAD Designer includes:
  • Salary Range: $100,000-118,000 **depending on experience**
  • Full Benefits Package: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Sick Leave as required by law
  • Relocation assistance is negotiable for a qualified relocation candidate.
