Job description

Telemetry Monitor Tech Job, Evening & Night Shift (7p-7:30a, 3-11:30p, 11p-7:30a as needed) with every third weekend & rotating holidays, IMCU Telemetry

Powers Health is hiring a Telemetry Monitor Tech for IMCU Telemetry to work evenings & nights at Community Hospital in Munster, IN.

The Intermediate Care North Unit is a 32-bed multidisciplinary 24-hour unit located on the third floor of the hospital. Patients over the age of twelve may be admitted to this unit, but the average age is 65.  The most common types of patients admitted to IMCU North include patients with: ESRD patients (CAPD or Hemodialysis) either primary or secondary diagnosis, cardiac dysrhythmia, unstable angina, CAD, PVD, COPD, management of diabetes, CHF, general surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring postoperatively.

Telemetry Monitor Tech Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Performs various functions that support the multidisciplinary team in delivering high quality, cost-effective care.
  • Employs effective communication skills in all interactions and when relaying important EKG changes to nursing staff. 
  • Maintains competency requirements for EKG interpretation, computer skills associated with the monitoring system and other job related functions. 
  • Maintains vigilant monitoring to ensure EKG dysrhythmias are reported and documented per policy. 
  • This position will routinely perform Unit Secretary duties for the unit as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must complete and pass EKG Class for Monitor Techs within 30-days of hire 
  • Monitor trained preferred
  • BLS required
