Job Description:
  • The CAD Designer is responsible for preparing and maintaining engineering or sustaining project design layouts, production drawings and other related documentation per ANSI standards, considering methods of manufacture and tolerance and their effect on related parts or assemblies.
  • Function as a design engineer for routine/correction.
  • Prepare average complexity original mechanical layouts using the CAD system.
  • Depending on seniority, use the CAD system to prepare and maintain highest complexity mechanical and average complexity electrical and electronic product and production drawings and other related documentation from layouts, sketches or verbal instructions.
  • Be responsible for accuracy of assignments, except for design features that are the responsibility of the project engineer.
  • Understand ANSI drafting methods, standards and procedures.
  • Understand manufacturing processes and techniques, and interpretation of ANSI standards and procedures.
  • Possesses basic knowledge of the mechanical and, depending on the seniority, partial to total knowledge of the electrical and electronic Product Line.
  • Maintain status reports on all projects assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Working knowledge and experience with Autodesk Inventor
  • Basic CAD drafting and design experience.
  • Ability to create and modify engineering drawings and models.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Education:
  • Training, coursework, certification, technical degree, or documented experience in CAD design or drafting.

Nice to have
  • Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD.
  • Experience performing tolerance studies.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 drafting standards.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools such as: Calipers & Micrometers

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and modify CAD models and engineering drawings.
  • Support engineering and manufacturing teams with drafting and design activities.
  • Assist with tolerance analysis and drawing updates.
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and manufacturing personnel.
  • Work within company drafting standards and design processes.
  • Support projects from concept through manufacturing and implementation.

Work Environment
  • Looking for candidates who are able to work onsite and can comfortably commute to the worksite.
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule.
  • Manufacturing plant environment.
  • Small Team
  • Casual work attire (jeans, polo shirts, or coveralls as needed).
