What is a CAD coordinator?

CAD Coordinators are professionals responsible for managing and organizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) projects within an organization. They ensure that CAD drawings and models are created, maintained, and shared according to project standards and deadlines. CAD Coordinators also provide technical support to design teams, manage CAD software and systems, and help maintain quality control throughout the design process. Their role is crucial in facilitating collaboration among engineers, architects, and other stakeholders involved in a project.

How does a CAD coordinator typically collaborate with other departments during a project?

A CAD Coordinator works closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure design documents are accurate and up-to-date. They facilitate communication between design teams and other departments by managing CAD standards and coordinating file sharing protocols. Regular meetings and status updates are common, enabling the CAD Coordinator to resolve design conflicts and support seamless project delivery across disciplines. This collaborative work environment helps maintain consistency and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
