Job description

CAD/CAM Programmer
Metals USA has an immediate opening for a CAD/CAM Programmer in the Muskogee, OK facility. The CAD/CAM Programmer must be familiar with CNC equipment using Auto-CAD; to create drawings and CNC programs using the CAD/CAM software for coordinating all production and technical communications between customers, sales and manufacturing. Starting pay is $21.50 per hour depending on experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops, designs and details mechanical components, process plans using Auto-CAD.
  • Acts as a resource for technical guidance to manufacturing and sales departments.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods, test finished-product and system capabilities, confirming fabrication, assembly and installation processes.
  • Nests parts as required on sheets or blanks to maximize material and production efficiency.
  • Provides design assistance for products and produce engineer drawings.
  • Provides print generation capability from customer CAD files.
  • Maintains system and product data base by writing computer programs and entering data.
  • Works closely with CNC operators to determine proper tooling, speed feed ratios for optimal performance output.
  • Monitors, documents and controls any changes made to CNC programs
  • Notifies management of product discrepancies.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required to perform the duties of a CAD/CAM Programmer.
  • Maintains work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
