Architectural CAD Draftsmen for growing metal shop
Role and Responsibilities
  • Operate computer-aided drafting (CAD) equipment to produce designs, working drawings and shop drawings accurately
  • Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents to determine effect on architectural designs.
  • Ability to understand structural, electrical and mechanical design concepts
  • Analyze technical implications of architect’s design concept, for inferences between structural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical disciplines
  • Draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings and structures, based on preliminary concepts and sketches
  • Lay out plane interior room arrangements for projects using CAD
  • Create and revise drawings as required using established standards
  • Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs
  • Research dimensions and make up of materials and equipment to be installed per plans amp; specifications
  • Determine procedures and instructions to be followed, according to design specifications and quantity of materials
  • Prepare quality take offs, bidding documents and technical reports for specific projects
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Knowledge of structural issues, architectural design, electrical, mechanical and low voltage work relative to luxury residential market preferred
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (Required)
  • Experience working with external reference files (Xrefs)
  • Knowledge in artistic/architectural metalworks
  • Experience with dimensioning and noting
  • Experience with block usage
  • Must be extremely detail oriented
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
