Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Cable & Harness Technician to join our growing team. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the AIT Technician, Cable & Harness will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, potting, fabricating and repairing flight harnesses and avionics systems. The ideal candidate should possess keen visual acuity and knowledge of quality control and ASO-9100 standards with high attention to detail and organizational skills are critical for this position.

This role is on our Weekday shift (Monday-Thursday) from 6:00AM - 4:30PM

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Use essential tools and test equipment for harness fabrication
  • Work under microscope
  • CIRRIS testing experience
  • Run reports and download for tracking purposes
  • Solder, crimp, strip, and fabricate flight harnesses for spacecraft
  • Perform quality assurance checkouts on flight harness builds
  • Read wire harness schematics, assembly drawings, product-specific documentation, and work instructions
  • Utilize quality control methodologies while identifying components for harness fabrication and testing

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in harness fabrication
  • Experience and skills in operating test equipment used for harness checkouts
  • Experience working with epoxy, potting connectors
  • IPC-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620 or NASA STD 8739.4 Certification Preferred but not Required
  • J-Std 001 certified
  • General understanding of electronic components, electronics design, manufacturing, production processes, test equipment, and tools associated with harnessing
  • General knowledge of bill of materials, assembly drawings, product-specific documentation, work instructions, and other general documents
  • General understanding of production processes, test equipment, and tools associated with harnessing
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong follow-through ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal/written communication as well as organization/interpersonal skills
  • Ability to keep accurate records
  • Computer literate
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain patience in challenging situations
  • QA/QC experience
  • Must have excellent visual acuity to perform detailed inspections and quality control tasks
  • Ability to accurately distinguish a wide range of colors, which is essential for success in this role
  • U.S. Person or lawful permanent resident to comply with U.S. government space technology export regulations
